  1. Do not reduce calorie in-take too much

Our bodies have its own working system, if you reduce 1000 calorie from your diet your bodys basic metabolism ( which supports your bodys working as heart beat, breathing etc. ) will slow down automatically as your body sends the signal of starvation.  So, how much calorie should we burn everyday? It depends on your lifestyle, use your current weight( lb) times 11 is what you should burn. For instance, you are 120lb so you burn about 1320K a day. It is better to keep your body burn around 1200 daily unless you are VERY short. Research shows that women burn less than 1200 their metabolism slows 45%.2.   Do not skip breakfastBreakfast is the best time to start your metabolism. Many studies show that people who skip breakfast lose less than those who dont. Metabolism slows down when we are asleep, it begins to work when we eat again, so if we skip breakfast our bodies will stay in the same condition as we sleep which means it doesnt burn much calories as we want. This is why it is very wise to start the day with 300-400 calorie breakfast.   In

It takes longer for your body to digest food high in fiber than one high in fat, and it stables your blood sugar so you wont feel hungry for a very long time. So we should all have breakfast that is rich in fiber.3.  Eat more protein   Taking enough protein can improve the level of your metabolism and help burn 150-200K more calories daily. Protein is basically Amino Acid which takes longer than fat to get digested. Therefore our body burns more in order to digest the protein.   Of course this doesnt mean we can only eat protein. The ideal is 10%-35% protein of your total diet. You can get lean protein from fish, chicken, low-fat cheese, yogurt, and beans.4.  Eat more meals   Eat 4 or 5 small meals increases metabolism than 3 big meals. Give your food some digesting time 2-3hours before you eat another meal, and make sure that you have enough protein in each meal. For example, you have whole grain( fiber) and fruits for breakfast, then you will have a little brunch such as yogurt or fruit, and for lunch have some green salad and fish or chicken, in the afternoon have a little snack like banana or low-fat cheese. Try to eat as little as you can for dinner, 1 portion of 1000150 grams of turkey or fish or any other protein with lots of veggies.5.  Eat more carb.   What we call bad carbs are doughnuts, white bread etc, it makes insulin unstable and the fat will stay in your body. But we should take good cards such as vegetables, fruits and whole grains, they are high in fiber and very healthy.6.  Get rid of cigarettes and alcohol   Do you always feel like taking a sip of something before dinner? Think about it before you take that sip. Many researchers say that drinking before dinner will add 200 calories in your diet. And also when your body burns calories it chooses to burn them from the alcohol first, which means other fat from food will restore in your body. If you crave some alcohol, try to drink a small cup of red wine, each cup has only 80 calories and has more antioxidant than any other drinks.7.  Stay on Milk3 servings of dairy products such as low fat or 2%milk, cheese and yogurt will help you lose more weight than regular diet alone. It is because the calcium in milk works with other food which improves the metabolism, speed up the burning machine.      8. More spicy         When you cook, put more peppers in your skillet, it improves the static metabolism.          Another study shows peppers can fight hunger, so you can stay full for longer.      9. Learn to rest         Sleeping will not affect metabolism. People that dont get sleep more than 4hours  usually have difficulty breaking down bad carbs. Eat some bananas         Bananas are rich in Potassium which improves metabolism by adjusting body fluid, your body burns less when you are dehydrated. Make sure you take at least 1200mg potassium everyday which you can get from 1 banana( 450mg), or 1cup of milk( 370mg) or 1orange( 250mg) etc.      11. Dont throw away the peanut butter         If you love peanut butter, your diet becomes easier for you. Peanut butter has lots of magnesium which improves metabolism by giving lots of energy to body cells. Take 320mg Magnesium and you can get them from whole wheat bread with peanut butter or spinach.      12. Eat more seafood         People that eat seafood often have lower leptin level which is very helpful to losing weight. Higher the leptin is, slower your metabolism becomes. Try to get 3-4 servings of seafood a week.      13.  Get more Iron         Iron is very important to health. If you dont take enough Iron, your body will not be able to make enough oxygen to cells and this lowers metabolism. Adults should take 18mg Iron and you can get it from lean meat, chicken, soy, or grains.      14. Drink some green tea         Green tea does not only prevent cancer as we all know, it also improves metabolism. People who drink 3cups green tea a day their metabolism improve 3%. If you burn 60K extra calories a day, you will lose 6lb a year. So while green tea prevents heart diseases and cancer why not let it help you burn more fat?

10 Ways to Detoxify Your Body

Practiced for centuries by many cultures around the world — including Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine systems — detoxification involves resting, cleaning and nourishing the body from the inside out. By removing and eliminating toxins, then feeding your body with healthy nutrients, detoxifying can help protect you from disease and renew your ability to maintain optimum health.

“The body has its own natural healing system,” says Peter Bennett, N.D., medical director of Helios Clinic in
Victoria, B.C., and co-author with Stephen Barrie, N.D. and Sara Faye, of 7-Day Detox Miracle (Prima Health). “Detoxification enhances this system,” he explains.

How Does Detoxification Work?
Basically, detoxification means cleaning the blood. It does this mainly by removing impurities from the blood in the liver, where toxins are processed for elimination. The body also eliminates toxins through the kidneys, intestines, lungs, lymph and skin. However, when this system is compromised, impurities aren’t properly filtered and every cell in the body is adversely affected.

A detoxification program can help the body’s natural cleaning process by:
1) Resting the organs through fasting;
2) Stimulating the liver to drive toxins from the body;
3) Promoting elimination through the intestines, kidneys and skin;
4) Improving circulation of the blood; and
5) Refueling the body with healthy nutrients.

“Detoxification works because it addresses the needs of individual cells, the smallest units of human life,” says Bennett.

How Do You Know if You Need to Detoxify?
Bennett suggests that everyone should Detox at least once a year. A short detoxification program is generally safe; in fact, scientific studies show that a Detox is beneficial for health. Today, with more toxins in the environment than ever, “it’s critical to detoxify,” says Linda Page, N.D., Ph.D., the author of Detoxification (Healthy Healing Publications). Page recommends detoxing for symptoms such as unexplained fatigue, sluggish elimination, irritated skin, allergies or low-grade infections; bags under the eyes; a distended stomach even if the rest of your body is thin; menstrual difficulties; or mental confusion.

Where Do You Begin?
First, lighten up your toxin load. Eliminate alcohol, coffee, cigarettes, refined sugars and saturated fats, all of which act as toxins in the body and are obstacles to your healing process. Also, minimize use of chemical-based household cleaners and personal health care products (cleansers, shampoos, deodorants and toothpastes), and substitute natural alternatives.

Another deterrent to good health is stress, which triggers your body to release stress hormones into your system. While these hormones can provide the “adrenaline rush” to win a race or meet a deadline, in large amounts they create toxins and slow down detoxification enzymes in the liver. So it’s a good idea to detox stressful life situations along with detoxifying your body.

Which Detox Program is Best for You?
There are many detoxification programs, depending on your individual needs.
Many programs follow a 7-day schedule because, as Bennett explains, “it takes the body some time to clean the blood.” His program involves fasting on liquids for two days, followed by a carefully-planned five-day diet to allow the digestive system to rest. He also advises supplements, herbs, exercise, and practices such as dry-skin brushing and hydrotherapy to enhance circulation.

Page recommends a 3-7 day juice fast (drinking only fresh fruit and vegetable
juices and water) as an effective way to release toxins.

  • Cleansing supplement packages, which generally contain fiber, vitamins, herbs and minerals. There are several safe products on the market, with easy-to-follow instructions.
  • A routine of drinking only water one day each week — an ancient practice of many cultures.

10 Ways to Help Your Body Detoxify
After a detoxification program, you can cleanse your body daily through diet, supplements and lifestyle practices.

1. Eat plenty of fiber, including brown rice and organically-grown fresh fruits and vegetables. Beets, radishes, artichokes, cabbage, broccoli, spirulina, chlorella, and seaweed are excellent detoxifying foods.

2. Cleanse and protect the liver by taking herbs such as dandelion root, burdock and milk thistle, and drinking green tea.

3. Take vitamin C, which helps the body produce glutathione, a liver compound that drives away toxins.

4. Drink at least 2 quarts of water daily.

Clearing out excess waste and dead cells can revitalize your body’s healing capacities while increasing energy and improving both daily routines and fitness performance.You don’t have to breathe freeway fumes for hours a day to become saturated with toxins. Most of us are already fully loaded, says Elson Haas, M.D., author of The Detox Diet and founder of the Preventive Medical Center of Marin in San Rafael, Calif.“A toxin is any element the body doesn’t have a use for, like lead and mercury and hydrocarbons, and more mundane things like food colorings and hydrogenated fats,” Haas explains. “These toxins are in just about everything we come into contact with: polluted air and water, pesticides in foods, and chemicals in shampoos and medications. Consult your physician before beginning any fast.Haas advocates the use of supplements during a prolonged juice fast. Miso, a paste of fermented soybean, replenishes essential nutrients while supporting colon function and intestinal bacteria, both important in detoxification. Spirulina, an algae powder, provides additional protein and may aid those who experience fatigue during fasting. It’s best to begin a fast on Friday so your body can adjust over a leisurely weekend rather than at the office.FLOOD CONTROLThere are more extreme forms of cleansing, of course. Colonic irrigations rinse out the intestines using vast amounts of water, and some brave souls perform regular enemas using water, herbs or even diluted coffee. Haas warns against doing these more than two or three times a year, while other experts discount them entirely.“Colonics are unnecessary, and the procedure itself may cause infection or perforation,” says Andrew Weil, M.D., author of Natural Health, Natural Medicine. “Since your colon constantly sheds its lining, there’s no chance for toxins to build up on it. Regular bowel movements from eating a proper diet, drinking plenty of fluids and enjoying daily activity will clean you out naturally.”A problem with artificially inducing natural functions is that your body will get lazy and stop doing the work on its own. Dayton. “And any regular exercise regimen also improves metabolism.” Because exercise does boost the production of natural toxins, he adds, it’s important to stay properly hydrated during and after a workout.
“Water is always a primary part of any type of detox program, because it helps dilute and eliminate accumulated toxins,” says Dayton, who suggests that you keep drinking eight to 10 glasses per day of clean, filtered water during any cleansing cycle. If an injury keeps you from exercising, you can still stimulate your sweat glands with daily saunas (unless you have high blood pressure), but you’ll need twice as much water and some mineral supplements after steam-cleaning yourself.
