Proverbs 3
Further Benefits of Wisdom
1 My son, do not forget my teaching,
but keep my commands in your heart, 2 for they will prolong your life many years
and bring you prosperity. 3 Let love and faithfulness never leave you;
bind them around your neck,
write them on the tablet of your heart. 4 Then you will win favor and a good name
in the sight of God and man. 5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight. [a] 7 Do not be wise in your own eyes;
fear the LORD and shun evil. 8 This will bring health to your body
and nourishment to your bones. 9 Honor the LORD with your wealth,
with the firstfruits of all your crops; 10 then your barns will be filled to overflowing,
and your vats will brim over with new wine. 11 My son, do not despise the LORD’s discipline
and do not resent his rebuke, 12 because the LORD disciplines those he loves,
as a father [b] the son he delights in. 13 Blessed is the man who finds wisdom,
the man who gains understanding, 14 for she is more profitable than silver
and yields better returns than gold. 15 She is more precious than rubies;
nothing you desire can compare with her. 16 Long life is in her right hand;
in her left hand are riches and honor. 17 Her ways are pleasant ways,
and all her paths are peace. 18 She is a tree of life to those who embrace her;
those who lay hold of her will be blessed. 19 By wisdom the LORD laid the earth’s foundations,
by understanding he set the heavens in place; 20 by his knowledge the deeps were divided,
and the clouds let drop the dew. 21 My son, preserve sound judgment and discernment,
do not let them out of your sight; 22 they will be life for you,
an ornament to grace your neck. 23 Then you will go on your way in safety,
and your foot will not stumble; 24 when you lie down, you will not be afraid;
when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet. 25 Have no fear of sudden disaster
or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked, 26 for the LORD will be your confidence
and will keep your foot from being snared. 27 Do not withhold good from those who deserve it,
when it is in your power to act. 28 Do not say to your neighbor,
“Come back later; I’ll give it tomorrow”—
when you now have it with you. 29 Do not plot harm against your neighbor,
who lives trustfully near you. 30 Do not accuse a man for no reason—
when he has done you no harm. 31 Do not envy a violent man
or choose any of his ways, 32 for the LORD detests a perverse man
but takes the upright into his confidence. 33 The LORD’s curse is on the house of the wicked,
but he blesses the home of the righteous. 34 He mocks proud mockers
but gives grace to the humble. 35 The wise inherit honor,

1 我 儿 ， 不 要 忘 记 我 的 法 则 （ 或 译 ： 指 教 ） ； 你 心 要 谨 守 我 的 诫 命 ； 2 因 为 他 必 将 长 久 的 日 子 ， 生 命 的 年 数 与 平 安 ， 加 给 你 。 3 不 可 使 慈 爱 、 诚 实 离 开 你 ， 要 系 在 你 颈 项 上 ， 刻 在 你 心 版 上 。 4 这 样 ， 你 必 在 神 和 世 人 眼 前 蒙 恩 宠 ， 有 聪 明 。 5 你 要 专 心 仰 赖 耶 和 华 ， 不 可 倚 靠 自 己 的 聪 明 ， 6 在 你 一 切 所 行 的 事 上 都 要 认 定 他 ， 他 必 指 引 你 的 路 。 7 不 要 自 以 为 有 智 慧 ； 要 敬 畏 耶 和 华 ， 远 离 恶 事 。 8 这 便 医 治 你 的 肚 脐 ， 滋 润 你 的 百 骨 。 9 你 要 以 财 物 和 一 切 初 熟 的 土 产 尊 荣 耶 和 华 。 10 这 样 ， 你 的 仓 房 必 充 满 有 馀 ； 你 的 酒 ? 有 新 酒 盈 溢 。 11 我 儿 ， 你 不 可 轻 看 耶 和 华 的 管 教 （ 或 译 ： 惩 治 ） ， 也 不 可 厌 烦 他 的 责 备 ； 12 因 为 耶 和 华 所 爱 的 ， 他 必 责 备 ， 正 如 父 亲 责 备 所 喜 爱 的 儿 子 。 13 得 智 慧 ， 得 聪 明 的 ， 这 人 便 为 有 福 。 14 因 为 得 智 慧 胜 过 得 银 子 ， 其 利 益 强 如 精 金 ， 15 比 珍 珠 （ 或 译 ： 红 宝 石 ） 宝 贵 ； 你 一 切 所 喜 爱 的 ， 都 不 足 与 比 较 。 16 他 右 手 有 长 寿 ， 左 手 有 富 贵 。 17 他 的 道 是 安 乐 ； 他 的 路 全 是 平 安 。 18 他 与 持 守 他 的 作 生 命 树 ； 持 定 他 的 ， 俱 各 有 福 。 19 耶 和 华 以 智 慧 立 地 ， 以 聪 明 定 天 ， 20 以 知 识 使 深 渊 裂 开 ， 使 天 空 滴 下 甘 露 。 21 我 儿 ， 要 谨 守 真 智 慧 和 谋 略 ， 不 可 使 他 离 开 你 的 眼 目 。 22 这 样 ， 他 必 作 你 的 生 命 ， 颈 项 的 美 饰 。 23 你 就 坦 然 行 路 ， 不 致 碰 脚 。 24 你 躺 下 ， 必 不 惧 怕 ； 你 躺 卧 ， 睡 得 香 甜 。 25 忽 然 来 的 惊 恐 ， 不 要 害 怕 ； 恶 人 遭 毁 灭 ， 也 不 要 恐 惧 。 26 因 为 耶 和 华 是 你 所 倚 靠 的 ； 他 必 保 守 你 的 脚 不 陷 入 网 罗 。 27 你 手 若 有 行 善 的 力 量 ， 不 可 推 辞 ， 就 当 向 那 应 得 的 人 施 行 。 28 你 那 里 若 有 现 成 的 ， 不 可 对 邻 舍 说 ： 去 罢 ， 明 天 再 来 ， 我 必 给 你 。 29 你 的 邻 舍 既 在 你 附 近 安 居 ， 你 不 可 设 计 害 他 。 30 人 未 曾 加 害 与 你 ， 不 可 无 故 与 他 相 争 。 31 不 可 嫉 妒 强 暴 的 人 ， 也 不 可 选 择 他 所 行 的 路 。 32 因 为 ， 乖 僻 人 为 耶 和 华 所 憎 恶 ； 正 直 人 为 他 所 亲 密 。 33 耶 和 华 咒 诅 恶 人 的 家 庭 ， 赐 福 与 义 人 的 居 所 。 34 他 讥 诮 那 好 讥 诮 的 人 ， 赐 恩 给 谦 卑 的 人 。 35 智 慧 人 必 承 受 尊 荣 ； 愚 昧 人 高 升 也 成 为 羞 辱 。
Proverb 3, is further discussing about wisdom. 3:3 love and faithfulness are both important traits which we don’t only keep always in our mind and heart but also put them into actions. To love one another and keep faith in God are not just something we say, but what we do. 3:5-6 many times when me and my husband try to make a decision about our coming future, whether or not this is good enough for us, we can’t make that decision, stopping at the cross road not knowing what to do… but we’ve learned from here that we trust the Lord because he watches us and knows our desires and what’s best for us. Most of the times our busy life take over all our time and space, people, friends, work cover our ears and we are blind… but just take some time and try to listen to God, he is ALWAYS there, it just depends on whether you will go to him or not. “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well” Matthew 6:33 Now we should think about what is we really need, what God is working on with your life right now. When everything else goes well except that single one that worries you, what does He want you to learn from it? Are you ignoring his thoughts? Are you ignoring his will? 11-12: I remember when I was growing up, I had everything I needed and wanted. My parents couldn’t stand to see me cry, I learned the first time if I didn’t get what I wanted, I showed them the poor-little-girl face and they gave me what I wanted even if I didn’t really need it. Parents always spoil their children even when what they want is not good for them. Our Heavenly Father teaches us, by not giving us what we want, so that we can grow stronger and better. His love is righteous, he wants to give us what’s best for us so we will grow closer to him, by his teaching and correcting we will be able to know what’s right and wrong.Proverbs has so much to learn and everyday I find it have different meanings as our life changes. But every time I read God’s words my heart grows stronger my spirit gets fuller and of course I become happier, knowing someone up high is loving you, no matter what.Let’s continue to ask for wisdom as we go by, we should always be thankful for what we are given, and praise the Lord for his care and love.
